Computer Science Vs Computer Engineering

As a graduate, you’ll have the necessary skills and preparation to work at entry-level hardware and software positions within various industries such as aerospace and avionics, automotive, consumer electronics, Internet of Things, entertainment, and defense. Ability to apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice and solution to complex engineering problems. FCS&E then subsequently introduced the degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Software Engineering in 2003. At City College, the degree programs are jointly administered by the Departments ofComputer Science andElectrical Engineering. The undergraduate program leads to a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and the graduate program to the degree of Master of Science. Digital Systems Lab is designed for the understanding of digital logic concepts and consists of oscilloscopes, digital trainers, digital multimeters, function generators, 8086 microprocessor kits and supporting accessories. Implementation of adders, subtractors, logic circuits,decoders, encoders, multiplexers, combinational circuits, sequential logic circuits, flip-flops, counters and registers also carried out in this lab. It also covers practical implementation of microprocessor and interfacing techniques.

As for the role of a computer engineer, it encompasses various activities undertaken to maximize system operations. From system design and maintenance to installing and updating software to all necessary adjustments and modifications to networks and systems- everything falls under computer engineers’ range of expertise. There is quite a wide spectrum of salaries earned by computer engineers, and this can vary from the area of the industry that they are in, to the experience that they have on the job.
